For my 2022 racing season I’ve been looking for any edge. I race at the New Castle Motorsports Park in Indiana in the Briggs & Stratton LO206 CIK Masters class.
This is Briggs Local Option (LO) factory-built engine that is required to maintain
compliance to the Briggs specifications. The intent for the class is to have all
engines equal in performance and keep the cost of kart racing reasonable. The oil is the only thing that is not restricted.
In the LO206 classes the racing is tight, the horsepower is low, and a 10ths of a second can makes all the difference. Third race of 2022 I made the change toTriboDyn oil and haven’t looked back. My Kart is running faster than it ever has. I’m noticing easier starts and lower temperatures already with only a few races with TriboDyn oil.
It could be luck; it could be the TriboDyn oil. I’m running down the front runners every weekend now, I’m not looking back only ahead with TriboDyn oil.
I will have my engine dyno tested after the season to check the horsepower compared to the beginning of the year.
